Being a police officer these days is hazardous to your health, thanks in large part to the racially divisive narrative being pushed by radical leftists, which has led to the murders of numerous cops over the last several years.

A recent shooting in Estill, South Carolina was captured by the body camera of a local police officer, and while the incident itself is quite terrifying to behold, what’s making the video go viral is how a woman at the scene responded.

She immediately approached the fallen officer and began praying over him in the matchless name of Jesus Christ.

This is amazing.

Via Activist Mom:

According to The Daily Wire, Officer Quincy Smith was responding on January 1, 2016 to a report about a suspicious person wearing camouflage and snatching groceries from civilians.

When Officer Smith spotted the suspect near the scene, he began to approach him, beckoning, “come here, man. Come here, for a second.”

The man – who The Daily Wire identifies as Malcolm Antwan Orr (now 29) – glanced back at Officer Smith and kept walking.

“Come here,” Officer Smith ordered again. “You better stop.”

As Orr began placing his hand inside his jacket, Officer Smith became more frantic.

“Stop! Stop,” he demanded. “Take your hands out of your pocket! If you don’t stop, I’m gonna tase you. I’m not playing with you. Take your hand out your pocket!”
Orr eventually did remove his hand from inside his jacket, revealing a gun.

He promptly fired eight shots at Officer Smith, who raced back to his patrol car to radio for help, begging, “dispatch, help,” adding, “arms are broken” and, “help me, please.”

Then, in a moment of desperation, Officer Smith uttered, “dispatch, please tell my family I love them.”

It’s at this point that a bystander intervened, rushing to the side of Officer Smith and praying over him until help arrived.

“In the name of Jesus, you shall live! In the name of Jesus, you will not die!”

According to reports, it appears the woman’s prayers were answered and the officer is alright. Here are a few more details from CBS News:

Bullets broke two bones in Smith’s arm, severed a vein in his neck, and passed through his upper torso.

A jury deliberated for less than 45 minutes before handing up a guilty verdict, the statement said.

Orr, the suspect who shot Officer Smith was served to 35 years in prison for his crime, which is the maximum sentence possible.

This was a fortunate turn of events for him as well, because had the officer died, it would’ve been a murder case where the death penalty would’ve been sought.

Hopefully, both officer and suspect will see the good grace of God shining in their lives and put their full faith in Christ for the forgiveness of their sins, counting the blessings they have received at His hand.

Police officers are brave souls who willingly put their lives on the line each and every day to ensure that our communities are safe places for our families. They do this horribly difficult job knowing people will hate them and try to harm them, yet they do it anyway.

This is what sacrificial love looks like, folks. We could certainly use more of it in our world today.

This story is a reminder of the power of prayer, as there’s little doubt in my mind the Lord heard His faithful servant looking out for this man and answered her prayers to spare his life. Miracles do indeed happen every day, if only we have eyes to see them.
