There’s absolutely no doubt that Obamacare is the scourge of our nation at the moment, economically speaking, which is why so many people across the country, regardless of party affiliation, have been demanding our do-nothing Congress get off their duff and actually get this garbage repealed and replaced with a free market solution.

The Affordable Care Act is Obama’s only actual legacy, and it’s a pretty terrible one. Business owners have been unfairly burdened by being forced to either provide costly insurance or pay fines, both of which decrease the profit margin and end up hurting both workers and consumers.

Either the business passes the cost on to us or they reduce hours and staff, creating fewer jobs and more poverty. Yet, somehow, liberals think Obamacare is a good thing. On top of that, there’s the fact many people lost their insurance coverage or were unable to keep their current doctors, both things that were promised by the previous administration.

The government taking control of any part of the health care system is a step toward socialism and takes away a person’s freedom of choice, neither of which are good things. This is why it’s time for this crap to go. Like yesterday.

Well, President Trump just announced today that he’s going to stop billions of dollars that were supposed to go to health insurers to subsidize low-income Americans, something insurers predict will cause a spike in premiums. The current administration says it’s not lawful for them to pay the subsidies out.

via The Free Beacon:

President Donald Trump will stop payments worth billions of dollars to health insurers to subsidize low-income Americans, the White House said on Thursday, a move health insurers have warned will cause chaos in insurance markets and a spike in premiums.

The move to undermine President Barack Obama’s signature healthcare law, officially called the Affordable Care Act, drew criticism from Democrats and the threat of a lawsuit from state attorneys general.

Trump has made the payments, guaranteed to insurers under Obamacare to help lower out-of-pocket medical expenses for low-income consumers, each month since taking office in January. But he has repeatedly threatened to cut them off and disparaged them as a “bailout” for insurance companies.

The White House said late on Thursday that it cannot lawfully pay the subsidies to health insurance companies.

A White House statement said that based on guidance from the Justice Department, “the Department of Health and Human Services has concluded that there is no appropriation for cost-sharing reduction payments to insurance companies under Obamacare.”

“In light of this analysis, the Government cannot lawfully make the cost-sharing reduction payments,” the statement said.

Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer and House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi derided the move in a joint statement, saying Trump would single-handedly push American’s healthcare premiums higher.

“It is a spiteful act of vast, pointless sabotage leveled at working families and the middle class in every corner of America,” they said. “Make no mistake about it, Trump will try to blame the Affordable Care Act, but this will fall on his back and he will pay the price for it.”

The whole concept of the government paying for someone’s health care is immoral from the beginning, as it forcibly takes away a person’s hard earned income and gives it to another person who hasn’t earned it with no input whatsoever from the individual the money was taken from.

In other words, it’s more or less stealing. Income taxes as a whole are theft. That’s not to say all taxation is bad, as the government does need money for defense and other essential parts of the infrastructure, but taking a man’s paycheck, before he even has the chance to see it, is wrong on every level.

It’s double wrong to take that cash and give it to someone else who isn’t working or earning it to take care of them and their family. You’re putting one family at risk to supposedly help another. The problem is, you just end up making both families more poor than they were before.

Nobody wins with socialism. Nobody.
