It only took NBC News a matter of hours to finally post a piece on their website about how Muslims are going to face “backlash” after Tuesday’s horrible terrorist attack in NYC that left eight people dead.

This, of course, is a favorite narrative used by leftwing media to pander to the ever growing Muslim population in America, an effective use of propaganda designed to get these folks solidly Democrat so they can bus them to the polls on election day.

What boggles the mind is that the leftists who run much of the mainstream media just don’t seem to understand that this is exactly the kind of behavior and nonsense that enticed people to vote for Trump.

Shortly after police identified the suspect as 29-year-old Sayfullo Habibullaevic Saipov, an Uzbekistan native who came to the U.S. in 2010 on a diversity visa, NBC posted a story entitled “Muslim Americans Again Brace for Backlash After New York Attack.”

The piece touched on concerns among Muslim Americans and community members, who worried about how Islam would be perceived after another terror attack or that Muslims themselves would be targeted for retaliation.

“My initial reaction was, obviously, concern and shock over what happened,” a Muslim American doctor from New Jersey told NBC News. “And then, basically, I was wondering if it was a Muslim who did it.”

“My biggest concern is that he’s readily identified as a Muslim and then that is extrapolated out to my own faith,” the doctor added.

The Muslim “backlash” story is a common refrain in Western media reporting after terror attacks committed or inspired by radical Islamic groups. After the 2016 Orlando nightclub shooting, nearly every national media outlet and several local news stations ran stories on Muslims fretting about how they would be subjected to a wave of hate from American society. The story was the same after the San Bernardino attacks in 2015, with dozens of outlets across the country rushing to report on the specter of Islamophobia almost immediately after the shooting.

NBC News appeared to be the first national outlet to mine the “backlash” vein Tuesday. The story quoted a leader from local Muslim organization, who assured the outlet that the Muslim community would do what it could to assist authorities working the truck attack case.

There are some harsh realities that need to be laid out on the table when discussing this particular issue.

Firstly, if Muslims are so concerned about the backlash they are going to get each and every time there’s a terrorist attack — and with all of the jihadis hard at work around the world, this is going to happen a lot — perhaps they ought, collectively, to admit there’s a problem in Islamic culture, and denounce the egregious actions of radicals who they repeatedly claim don’t represent their religion.

Secondly, they also ought to consider actually examining their own holy book and put it up under scrutiny, because if one takes their text at face value, it seems the radicals are the ones who are actually devout and following a strict interpretation of the Koran. Which means the religion of Islam is exactly what so many of us already believe: a bloodthirsty religion that encourages murder.

Regardless, if they want folks to sympathize with them, Muslims need to step out boldly and do more to oppose radicals.
