President Trump has no shortage of enemies and people who wish him harm, particularly it seems in the realm of Hollywood and other useless celebrities.

Just a few months back, comedian Kathy Griffin essentially harpooned her career by posting a photo on social media holding up a fake severed head of the president, covered in blood. While this is upsetting and disturbing for a number of reasons, perhaps the most awful part of the whole thing was that the president’s son, Barron, saw the picture.

He thought it was real. How terrible is that?

Griffin’s appearances across the country were immediately cancelled and she’s still trying to recover from her awful publicity stunt.

This is a prime example of why someone shouldn’t try to get famous from “hashtag activism,” because, believe it or not, even in this culture you can go too far and land in hot water.

It seems celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain didn’t learn this lesson from watching how Griffin imploded, because he too made a very inappropriate and disturbing comment about the president.

He said he’d poison him with hemlock.

Via Daily Wire:

A TMZ reporter asked Bourdain, who hosts the travel show “Parts Unknown” on CNN, what he would serve to North Korean President Kim Jong Un and Trump if he were called to cater a meal. “Hemlock,” Bourdain said.

Hemlock is, of course, a highly poisonous plant, best known for being the substance Socrates drank after being sentenced to death. Death by hemlock is terrible way to die, as described by Plato: First intense abdominal pain, followed by convulsions, seizure, numbness and paralysis, then respiratory and heart failure.

Since Bourdain’s comment, there’s been no response by CNN. We’ve asked the cable network for comment — we’ll let you know if they respond.

Bourdain is not shy about his hatred for Trump: He said last year he will never eat in any Trump restaurant because of how much he hates Trump.

“I will never eat in his restaurant,” Bourdain said in December 2016. “I have utter contempt for him, utter and complete contempt.”

CNN has had quite a few episodes with Trump haters on its network. They fired comedienne Kathy Griffin, who co-hosted their New Year’s Eve specials, but only after a huge outcry over her posing with a bloody severed head made to look like Trump.

CNN has not at all been shy about their hatred for the president, with one of the anchors on the network, Reza Aslan, calling Trump a “piece of ****.” He was fired, but only after a large outcry from the public.

Harvard conducted a study of the news coverage CNN gave of Trump and found 93 percent of it was negative. How can these folks claim to be honest journalists with a straight face after information like that comes out?

I’m not saying they need to support Trump, but in reality, they shouldn’t be supporting anyone. They should be doing their journalistic duty to hold all elected officials accountable for their actions by digging deep into ALL of them, left and right, and presenting the facts to the American people for them to draw their own conclusions.

CNN needs to release some sort of statement condemning Bourdain’s comments, especially since he has a show on the network and publicly represents them just like Aslan did. It’s one thing to slam the president and his policies, it’s a whole different ball game to say you’d poison him.

No president, regardless of political affiliation, should have their life threatened by their opponents. That’s just messed up. This, of course, should be a no brainer.

Unfortunately, the culture we live in has gone bonkers, so common sense has become a thing of the past.
