While there’s been almost nonstop talk about Russia colluding with President Trump to rig the election in his favor, claims that have no actual basis in reality, it seems as if things are a little backwards.
There’s growing evidence to suggest that Russia is now using the anti-Trump movement to keep Americans divided and to undermine the current administration.
Well, it certainly doesn’t seem like they had to put a whole lot of effort into dividing Americans. Democrats have been working on doing that for years now.

After Trump’s electoral victory, Russian cyber operations began focusing on “fomenting discord about the validity of [Trump’s] election,” Facebook general counsel Colin Stretch told a Senate Judiciary panel on Tuesday. Sean Edgett, general counsel for Twitter, offered a similar assessment.
“During the election, they were trying to create discord between Americans, most of it directed against Clinton. After the election you saw Russian-tied groups and organizations trying to undermine President Trump’s legitimacy. Is that what you saw on Facebook?” South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham asked Edgett and Stretch, Politico reported. Both Edgett and Stretch characterized Graham’s remark as “accurate.”
The weekend after Trump’s election, thousands of people attended a left-wing anti-Trump protest in New York City that was secretly organized by Russian operatives, ads released by the House Intelligence Committee revealed.
More than 16,000 people RSVP’d on Facebook for the protest, which was titled: “Trump is NOT my President. March against Trump.”
CNN’s reporting on the anti-Trump protests that weekend noted: “Some are questioning the legitimacy of Trump’s victory over Hillary Clinton by noting that although he took the Electoral College, Clinton won the popular vote.” (The popular vote has zero impact on the legitimacy of an election.)
Russian operatives organized other anti-Trump protests, BuzzFeed reported, including a pair of anti-Trump protests in Charlotte, North Carolina.
We as American citizens wouldn’t be so easy to divide if it weren’t for the fact that progressives, for years, have been been grooming the country for the extreme political correctness we’re now seeing in our country.
When people felt free to speak their minds, to voice their dissenting opinions in open discussion and debate, there was less extreme forms of hostility being promoted in our culture.
It’s possible for us all to get along with each other, to not allow countries like Russia to manipulate us into being at each other’s throats. Look at how we all were on 9/11? Everyone put aside their differences for awhile and united together.
That can happen again. Let’s hope it doesn’t take another major terrorist attack to make it so.
